Are the famous five still liked!

I was just thinking to myself, are the famous five still liked! I must admit I have not been on the famous five forums as much lately! Why is this?  There are so many other adventure stories out there, some good and some really very bad! So by the time I do check them out, I have had to put these pages on hold, well for the time being that is!

So have I found anything that I really do like, something that can replace the five? Well in a nutshell, NO !

The Five are still the best, but thats just my opinion!

I know I have not updated these pages in a while, the reason for this? Well I have just not had the time! I have decided to put a Famous Five Wikipages section up. This runs on the same software that Wikipedia uses. So what this means is, readers are able to submit their own thought and ideas.

Please feel free to share your own thoughts on the Famous Five, if you want to create pages, just simply do a search, and see if there is a page on that subject. You can either edit the page, or if the content is not there, then simply create a new page.

All you have to do is simply register on the five wiki pages, confirm your email address and you are ready to go. Go over to the Five Wiki

Famous Five Books

I will be getting my lovely books out over the next few weeks, and I will be reading them all over again. I have two full sets, these are in lovely superb condition, and they are wrapped safely and boxed away. I do have loads more Five books, some are in reasonable condition, while others are in well-read condition!

I will be reading the ones that have been well read, I really do love the well-read ones they give me a very nostalgic feeling when I read them.

I will be making a few more book reviews, so reading them all again will help me with my views on the books.

These are just my views you and others reading this will have other views. So please remember these are just my views and thoughts on Enid Blyton’s Famous Five !

Eileen Soper

For me the great illustrator, Eileen Soper helped capture the imagination! The old fashioned drawings ( of course not old fashioned when they were first drawn! ) Eileen did of the five, in my opinon were brilliant! I am sure loads of you will agree with me on that one! Other illustrators after, could not capture the magic that Eileen managed.

I do however have one little niggle, in some of the stories Eileen did not manage to show the childrens true age. Maybe both Eileen and Enid plotted together to keep the children younger, for a very long time!

But back to Eileens work! I thought her work was brilliant, and I have been on the look out for more of her work, not just the Famous Five drawings, but other projects that she has done.

Famous Five Books

I have been browsing through my old Five books, and I thought I would just share my views with anybody who may be interested to hear them! On re reading them again, some of the stories seem very far fetched and silly, while a few of the stories are brilliant.

A couple of the stories I really did like, were Five get Into Trouble, and Five On A Hike Together , both stories two of the best  in the series.

Five Get Into Trouble

Five Get Into Trouble, was the first book of Enid Blyton’s great creations I ever read ! After reading this brilliant book I was totaly hooked on the Five, it was by pure chance that I read this smashing book!

I know the story may have been a little far fetched in places, but it was a great read non the less, and one of my favourite in the series.

I really did like Enid’s description of the children biking in the moonlight, and eating sandwiches as they rode through the night. It really was brill, it was an exciting read.

For me I would have loved nothing better, than the children being able to ride around the moonlit countryside. Being cooped up at Owls Dene did limit the children I felt! Roaming round the countryside with baddies about, did give it an creepy feeling I thought.

My Thoughts:  A cracking story, top marks to Enid 10/10
